Well-known for emerging as the 2nd runner-up at Sing! China, passionate jazz vocalist Joanna Dong is also a musical theatre actress and TV Host. Just last year, Joanna participated in the National Day Song “We Are Singapore” and the NDP Celebrations. No stranger to Singapore Day, catch Joanna as she shares with us her fond memories of Singapore through music.
Chua Enlai & Hossan Leong
Enlai and Hossan are two of Singapore’s most recognized and talented local entertainers in their own right. Their flair for comedy and dramatic work in theatre, television and film through the years have won the hearts of Singaporeans. Currently working together on Toggle’s sketch-comedy, We the Citizens, Enlai and Hossan will be hosting this year’s Singapore Day.
Rani Singam & Andrew Lim
Both well-known in Singapore’s jazz scene, contemporary vocalist Rani Singam and guitarist Andrew Lim are clearly seasoned pros; both having performed at many international events. Rani has been dubbed as Singapore’s First Lady of Jazz. Established as one of the most sought after sessionists in soul/jazz, Andrew held his debut solo concert in July 2018, forging his way as a leading voice in jazz. Frequent collaborators, Rani and Andrew will surely take audiences on an intimate and captivating musical journey this Singapore Day.
Siti Khalijah & Judee Tan
Undeniably two of Singapore’s funniest ladies, Siti Khalijah and Judee Tan are also known as Meenah and Cheenah. Through their alter egos, both flesh out familiar Singaporean characters and engage in hilarious multicultural banter in their same-name comedy skit. Come reminisce together with the funny duo as they bring us back to the days of our childhood at this year’s Singapore Day.
Well-known for their beautiful medley of 26 National Day Songs from the 1960s to date, MICappella is one of Singapore’s most versatile and talented vocal band, also having finished second place in The Sing-off China in 2012. Their passion and craft have also earned them various international awards, including first place at the Moscow Spring Festival in 2017. Don’t miss out on this chance to hear the sextet live at Singapore Day.
Aisyah Aziz’s soulful voice is unmistakable and has won a number of awards, including Best Asian Artist representing Singapore for Korea’s Mnet Asian Music Awards in 2017, since launching her music career after participating in reality TV singing competition Akademi Fantasia. Aisyah believes in the importance of singing in her own mother tongue and recently started writing her own songs too. Come catch Aisyah as she shares the meaning of home with us through her songs.
No stranger to living overseas, singer-songwriter Gen Neo’s solo release 从今以后 is written to encourage people hustling overseas. He may be a relatively newcomer in the Mandopop scene, but prior to his debut the Berklee College of Music alumnus had already written songs for big South Korean acts and dramas, including his latest duet with Miss A’s Fei. Nonetheless having grown up listening to Mandopop, Gen is passionate about returning to where it all started for him. Be sure to support Singapore’s budding talent this Singapore Day.
